“Gray Hackle” (Every cabin is named after a fly pattern.)
This value-priced, rustic log cabin is located across the street from the main office and store. It is a basic studio style layout with beds, table and kitchen all in one large room. There is a small outdoor area to the rear of the cabin with a picnic table, charcoal grill and fire pit. It's a basic, clean cabin that is value priced. The Taylor River runs behind it just beyond one other row of cabins. Parking is very limited at these cabins so if you have trailers and “toys,” expect to park them separate from the cabin area.
• Approximately 350 square feet
• Two full size beds
• Supplies included: paper towels, toilet paper, facial tissues, bar soap, hairdryer, trash bags, dish soap
• Not included: Anything edible (including coffee, condiments, spices), laundry detergent, shampoo and toiletries
• Parking limited to 1 vehicle in front and 1 vehicle behind. No parking allowed on side of cabin 3. (Additional vehicles and trailers may require parking separate from the cabin. Fees may apply.)
All units are designated as non-smoking (including marijuana). Dogs allowed for an additional nightly fee, maximum of 2 dogs. No cats or other animals. Dogs may not be left alone in cabins at any time. Nightly rate is based on 4 people. There is an additional fee of $10/person/night for extra persons (ages 7 and over). Maximum occupancy is 4. Rates are typically higher during the peak season from May – September/early October and during holiday periods. Rates are adjusted based on occupancy and can change at any time.   Cabin 3 was perfect for my husband and 2 pets. Plenty of room. It’s close to the store and restaurant. We love staying at 3 Rivers at least once a year. The staff are friendly and helpful.
  Gunnison and Crested Butte are each a short drive for dining and shopping. The drives around the area are beautiful. The fishing on the Gold Medal waters of the Taylor and Gunnison Rivers is excellent.

  stayed in a recently remodeled cabin on the river side of the facility. It was clean and well furnished. Have stayed in a similaer cabin not remodeled in the past, this was much better. would look more closely at similar offerings within the resort, actual riverfront would be great, we just did not want to pay for it this time.

  The cabin was great and liked the fact that it had a full kitchen and large room. For 2 people and 2 dogs was perfect. With 4 people, it may feel a little small. I'd recommend a larger unit. Didn't have AC but had a fan. During our stay it was hot during the day but cooled off nicely into the 40's at night so it wasn't a problem. Fishing was amazing and Eric our guide put us on some great fish. I'd highly recommend this resort and the fly shop. We didn't go white water rafting but by the looks of the smiles on people who did, I'd say they enjoyed their rafting trip.

  Myself and a friend stayed in a cabin for a week of dirt biking in the Taylor Park area. The resort was very accommodating and had some great activities around to do on days off of riding. We enjoyed some fishing and hiking around the resort and also a morning of white water rafting. For anybody considering staying here, I would also suggest packing a fan based on time of year. The cabins can get a little stuffy and having a fan to pull in outside air or provide some circulation helped a ton. Would absolutely stay there again.

  Nice no frills, we knew that going in. The problems were the oven and the refrigerator. We bought food to fix some meals. The first morning the stove wouldn't heat, the office sent someone over and he lit the pilot and checked the stove. Next day room smelled like natural gas, when they checked it they said it was ok. The refrigerator was loud and cycled all night. The burners on stove made a noise off and on like gas was trying to come on ?? Next morning stove worked
  burners wouldn't light, skipped eggs and asked them to fix it and the burners wouldn't work on top, the person who works on this was due back that night, so we couldn't use top burners, we were leaving the next day so wasn't helping us. So room ok but can't cook what we bought. The young guy tried to help but he didn't know how to fix this problem. When we checked out I told them what we dealt with, they said they were sorry. Not real happy with that but time to go home.

  The cabin itself was perfect for what we needed, just a place to land for our busy fun Gunnison Valley vacation. BUT, it was not very private, the cabin was located in the middle of the traffic and foot traffic, we felt very exposed. I would stay at 3 Rivers again, I would just ask for one of the cabins right on the river. They were newer and had more of a private feel to them. With that being said I should have asked more question when I called to make the reservation. Next time river front locations for sure!

  Three Rivers Resort in Almont, CO is in a prime location for all sorts of recreation, including hiking, biking, fishing and water sports. Just minutes from Crested Butte and Gunnison, any necessities are easily accessible. 3 Rivers offered many types of recreational activities, organized and reserved through the resort, including guided fishing and rafting and the staff was very accommodating and friendly. The resort itself, however, is very limited in attractions. There is a restaurant and bar on site, as well as a sporting goods store for fishing and recreational needs. There are some family attractions, like playgrounds, horseshoe and volleyball courts and group picnic areas.
  
  The cabin I was in was in a very busy, noisy location, right at the entrance to the resort at a busy intersection of roads. The cabin was well equipped but needed updating and a more 'vacation' quality. The grounds around the cabin were a parking lot, not very relaxing or inviting. There were other cabins closer to the river which looked nice, with nice decks and river views, but still close to lots of traffic and activity. River access was limited to a boat launch for those who did not have a cabin along the river, so be sure to rent a cabin along the water. All cabins had BBQ and fire pits. The best part of 3 Rivers is the access to the spectacular Gunnison National Forest. This is the PERFECT location for fishing enthusiasts, close to Colorado’s Gold Medal fishing in every direction! The hiking in the area was fantastic! Within minutes driving, are some of the most beautiful places on Earth.
