Cabin 33

Royal Trude (Every cabin is named after a fly pattern.) Cabins 31-38 are identical styles. These tiny home “mountain chalets” offer all the amenities of a cabin in a modern and compact package. They are perfect for families. There is a private bedroom downstairs and a low ceiling (4 feet high) sleeping loft upstairs with mattresses on the floor. Kids love to have their own space to crawl around up here. If anyone is very big or tall, these may not be the best cabin choice. *Note of caution for small children: the steps going up to the loft are steep and narrow and could present a falling hazard. The railing in the upper sleeping area is low enough for a toddler or small child to be able to climb over, presenting a dangerous falling hazard. If you have small children, a gate for the loft stairwell is recommended.

• The bedroom has a Queen size bed and the loft has 2 twin mattresses on the floor
• Couch in living room - not a hide-a-bed. If extra bed is needed, please bring an air mattress or sleeping bag.
• Covered open deck with patio table/chairs
• Nearby community fire ring may be used
• Supplies included: paper towels, toilet paper, facial tissues, bar soap, hairdryer, trash bags, dish soap
• Not included: Anything edible (including coffee, condiments, spices), laundry detergent, shampoo and toiletries
• Parking is somewhat limited in these cabins and is limited to 2 vehicles per unit or a vehicle and small trailer (not longer than a full size pick-up truck) unhitched and parked side by side with the vehicle. Additional vehicles and longer trailers may require parking separate from the cabin and fees may apply.
All units are designated as non-smoking (including marijuana). Dogs allowed for an additional nightly fee, maximum of 2 dogs. No cats or other animals. Dogs may not be left alone in cabins at any time. Nightly rate is based on 4 people. Maximum occupancy is 4. Rates are typically higher during the peak season from May – September/early October and during holiday periods. Rates are adjusted based on occupancy and can change at any time.   We enjoyed our stay and the cabin was very nice. The only caveat is the loft is worthless for anyone except children. We thought we could manage the four foot ceilings as adults but we had to crawl around and that is not easy. We ended up buying an inflatable mattress and slept on the floor.

  The cabin is more like a camper, and was stale...ran into a spider web when I first walked through. The staff was clearly over their jobs. The second day, I asked if I could switch to a different cabin on the river (I agreed to pay the extra $70). One kind staff member said yes, they had vacancies and there’s no reason not to (for the extra $70/ night). She said she thought they would switch me to cabin 60. When she called her colleague over to help make the switch, the second staff member (older woman with curly grey hair) came over with a huge attitude, and could clearly not believe a guest would dare to inconvenience her like this. She fiddled on the computer for a minute, grumbling and mad, and then declared it was impossible to do without a manager present. I asked if there was a way we could figure it out (I.e., pay the extra in morning when a manager was present as most of my bill was already paid in full, call a manager), but she wouldn’t budge. Simple request that had many easy solutions. It may be time for her to find a job that’s not in customer service. Changes your entire experience and outlook as a guest — just makes you feel bad.

  This cozy cabin was everything we needed for a level up from camping. It’s just the basics but it’s nice for what we needed! It was clean and well kept. The resort area is wonderful. The restaurant was delicious and the shop is so nice! everyone was incredibly friendly!!! we stayed here to attend a family wedding and would come back in a heartbeat.

  We loved our stay at Three Rivers this month for a family reunion. Cabin 33 was extremely clean and perfect for our family of three. Daughter (age 4) loved the loft! The kitchen was well-appointed, and we were glad for the fan as it did get pretty warm throughout the day. Our only issue was the mattress in the main bedroom - definitely time to switch that out. It was quite uncomfortable, and we're really not that picky. Didn't sleep well. That being said, Three Rivers will be at the top of our list for the next time we visit the area! Thanks for everything.

  Checkin was super easy. Front desk gave us extra info on local dining plus fishing/rafting excursions available. Their property map was easy to follow to find our cabin. Was clean, nothing was broken or not working properly. The linens/common household items were all there as advertised. Had almost a slight musty odor but once we opened up windows and turned the fans on it went away and the next few days I don’t remember noticing it again so maybe that specific cabin just hasn’t been used in a while. Would rent again. Beautiful location and not too far from Gunnison if u need bigger shopping.

  We had no hot water and electrical issue in the kitchen the first morning we were there. The maintenance staff was quick to get engaged and got everything repaired in a reasonable amount of time. The resort even gave us a discount on one of our nights stay. The cabin is nice but very small. Upstairs is not usable but for younger children. Only about 4.5 feet from floor to ceiling. Definitely not a space for adults. Location is great as it is easy to get to great places to fish. Crested Butte and Gunnison are only 15 min drive if you just want to go exploring. Overall it was an awesome place to use as our base for the week!

  Three Rivers was the perfect getaway for our family. We traveled with two Littles under 6 and had a blast. The staff was wonderful and very welcoming. From the lady I made reservations with over the phone who answered all my questions, Jim our river float guide who was so very sweet to our little boys, to Mr. Mark, the owner who on multiple occasions chatted with us like we were old friends. The resort itself was very well kept and clean. The cabins were just as described and very clean. For those of you worrying about The lack of A/C units, don’t! I’m a Texas girl and was very worried when I heard we were using “nature’s air conditioning” but I was pleasantly surprised we didn’t even miss it. In fact we were even cold at night!! Each cabin has two fans to keep air flowing. Overall this is the perfect family getaway, we’ll be back for sure!!
