Cabin 39

Blue Wing Olive (Every cabin is named after a fly pattern.) Cabins 39-44 are identical styles with cabin 49 being similar but having a slightly different layout. These tiny home “mountain chalets” offer all the amenities of a cabin in a modern and compact package. They are perfect for families. There is a private bedroom downstairs and a low ceiling (4 feet high) sleeping loft upstairs with mattresses on the floor. Kids love to have their own space to crawl around up here. If anyone is very big or tall, these may not be the best cabin choice. *Note of caution for small children: the steps going up to the loft are steep and narrow and could present a falling hazard. The railing in the upper sleeping loft is high but a small child could potentially climb over, presenting a dangerous falling hazard. If you have small children, a gate for the loft stairwell is recommended.

• The bedroom has a queen size bed and the loft has 2 full size mattresses on the floor
• Full size sofa in living room (not a hide-a-bed).
• Covered open deck with patio table/chairs
• Nearby community fire ring may be used
• Supplies included: paper towels, toilet paper, facial tissues, bar soap, hairdryer, trash bags, dish soap
• Not included: Anything edible (including coffee, condiments, spices), laundry detergent, shampoo and toiletries
• Parking is somewhat limited in these cabins and is limited to 2 vehicles per unit or a vehicle and small trailer (not longer than a full size pick-up truck) unhitched and parked side by side with the vehicle. Additional vehicles and longer trailers may require parking separate from the cabin and fees may apply.
• All Three Rivers Resort guests have access to private fishing on the Taylor River bordering the resort property.
All units are designated as non-smoking (including marijuana). Dogs allowed for an additional nightly fee, maximum of 2 dogs. No cats or other animals. Dogs may not be left alone in cabins at any time. Nightly rate is based on 4 people. Maximum occupancy is 4. Rates are typically higher during the peak season from May – September/early October and during holiday periods. Rates are adjusted based on occupancy and can change at any time.   I rate a stay based on 3 things: 1)is the bed comfortable, 2)is the water pressure decent, 3)is it quiet. This cabin passed 2 of the 3. The failure was the bed. The main bed was hard as a rock. We ended sleeping on the beds up in the loft, and yes, you can't stand up. The other thing we found problematic was how hot the place got in the afternoon and the outside temperature was only around 72; I can't imagine staying here in the summer. We did like the location being close to Crested Butte and Gunnison, and the kitchen was very well stocked with utensils and pots/pans. We had our dogs with us and it was very convenient to be next to the community fire pit area and having a nice patch of grass next to the unit. Stay here again? I'm not sure.

  Cabin 39 was the worst one we have ever stayed in. The sun shines in the top window all afternoon. There is no way to block the sun and it gets very hot inside till the sun goes down. Even with the windows open and fans on we had to go out on the deck.

  Just a nice little place to stay more affordably while x-country skiing in CB. Spacious enough for 2 or for a family with small kids. Condition of the property is getting worn down, but it's clean and welcoming. Nicely equipped. We're interested to return in summer, when resort facilities (restaurant, boats, etc.) are available.

  Given the location, you really can’t beat the price. Other reviewers are correct with saying the cabins are not very clean, or we’ll kept. The bed sheets had significant stains on them but appeared to be clean. The stains were so bad, we had to get new clean sheets from the office. The cabin itself was “ok” clean. The couch had stains and food stuck to it, several window blinds were broken, windows did not close or lock properly, and there was pretty bad dust and dirt on the flooring and ceiling fan. Walls are in need of a serious paint job. I get that it is the off season for 3 Rivers and they have very minimal staff, but the cabins are relatively small, and shouldn’t t require a great deal of upkeep to keep them clean and presentable.
  Overall, the staff was friendly and helpful, and the cabin served our need.

  I've been going to Three Rivers since I was kid 30 years ago. I am so grateful I decided to take my kids this year. We love everything about Three Rivers. So much to do. Kind staff. Beautiful scenery. The best part for us is the access to so much nearby. Within an hour we were able to see bighorn sheep, foxes, deer, climb a 14er, fish, and visit CB. We would loved a little better internet set up as it was not convenient during the times were there to use it for a period, then get kicked off, then have access to it again.
