Cabin 40

Three Rivers Resort is ideally situated in the heart of Almont, CO, just 20 minutes south of Crested Butte and 10 minutes north of Gunnison.
Red Quill (Every cabin is named after a fly pattern.) Cabins 39-44 are identical styles with cabin 49 being similar but having a slightly different layout. These tiny home “mountain chalets” offer all the amenities of a cabin in a modern and compact package. They are perfect for families. There is a private bedroom downstairs and a low ceiling (4 feet high) sleeping loft upstairs with mattresses on the floor. Kids love to have their own space to crawl around up here. If anyone is very big or tall, these may not be the best cabin choice. *Note of caution for small children: the steps going up to the loft are steep and narrow and could present a falling hazard. The railing in the upper sleeping loft is high but a small child could potentially climb over, presenting a dangerous falling hazard. If you have small children, a gate for the loft stairwell is recommended.

• The bedroom has a Queen size bed and the loft has 2 full size mattresses on the floor
• Full size sofa in living room (not a hide-a-bed).
• Covered open deck with patio table/chairs
• Nearby community fire ring may be used
• Supplies included: paper towels, toilet paper, facial tissues, bar soap, hairdryer, trash bags, dish soap
• Not included: Anything edible (including coffee, condiments, spices), laundry detergent, shampoo and toiletries
• Parking is somewhat limited in these cabins and is limited to 2 vehicles per unit or a vehicle and small trailer (not longer than a full size pick-up truck) unhitched and parked side by side with the vehicle. Additional vehicles and longer trailers may require parking separate from the cabin and fees may apply.
• All Three Rivers Resort guests have access to private fishing on the Taylor River bordering the resort property.
**For VRBO guests, please refer to your reservation confirmation sent to your email after booking for check-in and unit details. We operate like a hotel with a front desk.**
All units are designated as non-smoking (including marijuana). Dogs allowed for an additional $20/night/dog, maximum of 2 dogs. No cats or other animals. Dogs may not be left alone in cabins at any time. Nightly rate is based on 4 people. Maximum occupancy is 4. Rates are typically higher during the peak season from May – September/early October and during holiday periods. Rates are adjusted based on occupancy and can change at any time.   We stayed two nights as we were visiting family in Gunnison. This is a perfect location between CB and Gunnison. It's beautiful. The cabin was cute and quaint. My husband, two sons (22 and 20) and dog stayed. They boys stayed in the loft. It's a very large space and they had to crawl around. Our dog is older and couldn't climb the stairs to the carpeted loft. So if you anticipate stairs being a problem for you doggie I recommend bringing their bed. There are so many areas to walk/hike that your dog will love! The kitchen has everything you need to cook a meal. We didn't need to cook but it would've been hard for us to all have a place to sit and eat because the living room is small and the table only had 3 chairs. However, there's a nice area to sit outside if the weather is good. We would stay their again!

  Overall our stay was good. We have stayed with you several times in the past but this was the first time that the cabin felt overwhelmingly warm, particularly in the evening. We had difficulty sleeping and a ceiling fan in the bedroom would have been great. We did use the small fan from upstairs. Also, a small bottle of shampoo would have been helpful.

  We loved the cabin. As a family of 3 adults and 2 dogs we had plenty of room. We had some excitement one night when a lovely black bear decided to venture through the camp ground. No harm, no fowl just a bear looking for trash. Overall very clean and the camp ground was definitely quite during its designated times. We will definitely be back.

  The cabin was very clean and contained everything needed. The loft didn’t have much head space but that was expected.   We have stayed at Three Rivers Resort many times over a 18 years in the lodge rooms as well as the river front cabins and the cabins on Jane's lane. This was a new cabin layout and style. It has a nice deck with a "side yard" which is nice with pups, it was up to date and clean. Really enjoyed our stay.
