Cabin 42

Black Beauty (Every cabin is named after a fly pattern.) Cabins 39-44 are identical styles with cabin 49 being similar but having a slightly different layout. These tiny home “mountain chalets” offer all the amenities of a cabin in a modern and compact package. They are perfect for families. There is a private bedroom downstairs and a low ceiling (4 feet high) sleeping loft upstairs with mattresses on the floor. Kids love to have their own space to crawl around up here. If anyone is very big or tall, these may not be the best cabin choice. *Note of caution for small children: the steps going up to the loft are steep and narrow and could present a falling hazard. The railing in the upper sleeping loft is high but a small child could potentially climb over, presenting a dangerous falling hazard. If you have small children, a gate for the loft stairwell is recommended.
• Approximately 400 square feet
• The bedroom has a Queen size bed and the loft has 2 twin size mattresses on the floor
• Full size sofa in living room (not a hide-a-bed).
• Covered open deck with patio table/chairs
• Nearby community fire ring may be used
• Supplies included: paper towels, toilet paper, facial tissues, bar soap, hairdryer, trash bags, dish soap
• Not included: Anything edible (including coffee, condiments, spices), laundry detergent, shampoo and toiletries
• Parking is somewhat limited in these cabins and is limited to 2 vehicles per unit or a vehicle and small trailer (not longer than a full size pick-up truck) unhitched and parked side by side with the vehicle. Additional vehicles and longer trailers may require parking separate from the cabin and fees may apply.
• All Three Rivers Resort guests have access to private fishing on the Taylor River bordering the resort property.
**For VRBO guests, please refer to your reservation confirmation sent to your email after booking for check-in and unit details. We operate like a hotel with a front desk.**
All units are designated as non-smoking (including marijuana). Dogs allowed for an additional nightly fee, maximum of 2 dogs. No cats or other animals. Dogs may not be left alone in cabins at any time. Nightly rate is based on 4 people. Maximum occupancy is 4. Rates are typically higher during the peak season from May – September/early October and during holiday periods. Rates are adjusted based on occupancy and can change at any time.   Our weekend getaway to the destination cabin was wonderful. The only thing that stands out was that it was hard to find a fishing area that wasn't dangerous to get to. My husband is very unbalanced due to a stroke in his past and was dissapointed that he couldn't get to the river. Otherwise the cabin and area was perfect!

  Cute cabin but it took a while to figure out the temperature in the bedroom. Probably would be better to NOT have shelves above the head of the bed (hitting your head! & not useful for anything) & maybe have a smaller bed. The bedroom is very small, either too hot or too cold during the Fall. Maybe tell us there is no liquid soap pump in kitchen or bathroom. That would be helpful. Delightful surroundings!

  The place is clean, and everything is well stocked and in working condition. Good shower and TV for watching FB after fishing. Put the shorter guys or kids in the loft as it's only about 4/5' tall. The rest of the property is great as well. Restaurant, fly shop and lobby are all well run by friendly folks. The property is located perfectly between Gunnison, Crested Butte and Taylor C&R. If fishing is your thing, you've got about 10-12 streams/rivers and 4-5 lakes available within 2 hrs or less. If you're just into the mountains, biking, hiking, etc then you can't go wrong!

  The property is well kept. The cabin is cute. It has the worst bed that I have ever slept on in 54 years. Because of the location cellular service is very limited. They had the worst Wi-Fi service ever. It makes it difficult to manage my business when I cannot communicate virtually.

  If you have a trailer it's pretty tricky to park if you don't want to unhook everytime. The cabins are not by the river, and are located right next to a trailer park. Overall we had a great experience.

  We truly enjoyed our stay at Cabin 42. It was very clean and loved the location to Crested Butte, Gunnison and Blue Mesa Lake. My only complaint is the main bedroom bed was HORRIBLE! Rock hard, squeaked terribly and rolled across the floor. Definitely could use an upgrade. But we loved this little cabin soo much and hope to return again. My 3.5 year old really loved the loft. Very safe for him and fun!
