George Bailey House

Named the “George Bailey” home after the lead character in “It’s a Wonderful Life,” this home is popular with large families, multi-families and groups. The home has beds for 8 people but could sleep up to 10 utilizing couches. An attached two bedroom apartment with its own entrance may also be rented as a separate unit or together with the home. We call it the George Bailey Loft. View the Crested Butte mountains from the private hot tub or front porch. There is ample parking available for vehicles and & “toys,” shared with guests staying in the loft. **The George Bailey Home and Loft are located up the hill from the main part of the resort, adjacent to our manufactured home park. It is easy walking distance to the main part of the resort but guests may choose to drive. Note that separate parties may be staying in the House and Loft units simultaneously but they have separate entrances and the Loft is located above the garage.**
• Approximately 2000 square feet
• Master bedroom has a king size bed and private bathroom with shower on first floor.
• Also on the first floor is a bedroom with 2 twin beds and a separate bathroom with tub/shower.
• Upstairs is a bedroom with a queen bed and a bedroom with 2 twin beds plus a separate bathroom with tub/shower.
• Supplies included: paper towels, toilet paper, facial tissues, bar soap, hairdryer, trash bags, dish soap
• Not included: Anything edible (including coffee, condiments, spices), laundry detergent, shampoo and toiletries
• Plenty of parking here for 2+ vehicles and toy trailers
• All Three Rivers Resort guests have access to private fishing on the Taylor River bordering the resort property.
**For VRBO guests, please refer to your reservation confirmation sent to your email after booking for check-in and unit details. We operate like a hotel with a front desk.**
All units are designated as non-smoking (including marijuana). Dogs allowed for an additional nightly fee, maximum of 2 dogs. No cats or other animals. Dogs may not be left alone in cabins at any time. Nightly rate is based on 8 people. There is an additional fee of $10/person/night for extra persons (ages 7 and over). Maximum occupancy is 10. Rates are typically higher during the peak season from May – September/early October and during holiday periods. Rates are adjusted based on occupancy and can change at any time.   This is the 3rd (maybe 4th?) time we've stayed in the George Bailey house. It's a great option for two families to share. The home is always clean and the staff friendly in the office.
  
  I do have some complaints because we told the office one year ago about the SCREECHING dryer and the sliding screen door that needs repairing, yet both of these problems still exist one year later.
  
  Also, the windows are a mess and don't open and shut well at all. Since there isn't any air conditioning, it's critical to be able to use the windows. The office said they're aware of this issue, but can't get anyone in to replace the windows. Given how hot the home can get during the day, it can be uncomfortable to sleep at night even when the windows are wide open. I suggest adding AC or, at the very least, ceiling fans in all the bedrooms.

  Nice to spend some time away from busy life and enjoy the snow and beauty of the mountains. Enjoyed the hot tub as well as the house was lovely. Only issue is the wifi doesn't really work as it is too far from the main cabin. Also it was a little challenging as they got a lot of snow while we were there and so they had trouble keeping up with the shoveling/plowing. But it worked out.

  Don’t come here if your looking for a place to sneak in some work hours as I had to drive to Gunison to find a place with a good connection, somewhere to sit for awhile without feeling like I’m hogging a table, and a comfortable work environment. Hotub was perfect with a patio like walkway to it and a nice table outside nearby.

  This was our first time to stay in the George Bailey House. We have stayed in several of the other cabins over the years.
  
  It was spacious and clean, an overall good experience. As with all rental properties, there were quirky things but is to be expected.
  
  It is time to replace the appliances however. The handle to the stove was not attached (we used a kitchen towel) the ice maker clogged up(big deal we just opened the door), and the dishwasher needed a little nudging.
  
  Truly I loved the space- the porch was wonderful, and the hot tub was perfect after a long day of fishing.

  This was our 2nd year staying in the George Bailey House. We love the location and, for the most part, the house. We do find the mattresses uncomfortable - much too hard. So this time we brought our own foam pads to ensure a better night's sleep.
  
  The other minor complaint is that several windows that were broken when we rented last year were still broken this year. For a home without A/C, it's important to have good ventilation at night to cool the home down. We were surprised these windows were still an issue.
  
  Overall, the home is very clean with plenty of space for our family of 5 adults and 2 kids. We also enjoy the deck and the kids had a blast running around on the lawn.
  
  The staff at Three Rivers is always helpful and friendly. Several of us had a blast taking duckies down the Taylor River with guides from Three River's Resort. We look forward to our stay next year! (Fingers crossed the windows are repaired. :) )

  Would definitely stay again. The location and overall layout is perfect for a stay to relax and get outdoors. The house is great, but a in need of a little maintenance. The kitchen shade couldn't open and is a nice view blocked. A few light bulbs were out in bedrooms and the sliding door to deck is frustrating to open. Heat was set very warm when we got there. No need to waste the energy. Newer coffee maker would also add to the place. Location cant be beat though with the views and we love Three Rivers.

  We absolutely loved the home, it is beautiful, but the internet did not work the entire time of our stay , and we called the staff multiple times asking for them to fix the problem. The home is located right next to a mobile home park, but everything was very quiet, home was very clean, beautiful, and well stocked. We would stay there again but would bring a internet extension along.
